London to Paris Charity Bike Ride Round-Up

In April this year, Alpha Crew team members got together to complete the London to Paris Bike Ride together in aid of the British Heart Foundation. In 2021, we tragically lost our beloved crew member Hassan Elabbady who was loved by everyone who knew him. Everyone at Alpha Crew wanted to do something in his memory, and to help others with heart conditions like Hassan. That’s when we decided to do the London to Paris Bike Ride as a team, in order to raise money for the BHF to help people with heart conditions and to remember Hassan.

There were 7 riders made up of crew and our senior team, and 2 roadies to help with any breakdowns and health & safety. After weeks of preparation and training, they set off on Friday 8th of April from the London Eye, nice and early at 9:00 am ready for the journey ahead!

From there, they cycled around 90km through the British countryside to get to Brighton for their first rest stop. The following morning they set off to Newhaven in East Sussex, to the ferryport ready for the French leg of the ride.

After taking the 4 hour boat ride across the channel, the team arrived in Deippe, Normandy raring to go! Our team then set off on the longest leg of their journey, cycling 100km to Beauvais.

After pushing through the hardest day, and a well-deserved rest, our cyclists set off on the fourth and final day for the last leg of the ride. With the finish line in sight, they began a 75km ride from Beauvais to Paris.

They made it to Paris! After arriving in Paris and seeing the sights, they had a meal in the city to celebrate, and a good night's sleep before they made their way back to England (not by bike) the following day. We’re so proud of the whole team for their amazing accomplishment.

All the money raised, will be going straight to The British Heart Foundation in honour of Hassan, who everyone at Alpha Crew misses dearly. Donations to the The British Heart Foundation are used to fund research into all heart and circulatory diseases and the things that cause them. We chose this charity because their research funds so many important heart issues, including the same that Hassan faced.
